Dressing well has always been important to me. After birthing two children during the pandemic, I emerged to find a new body, a new workplace dress code, and a new desire to find clothes that meet me in this phase of life. As a busy corporate mom, it can be hard to find time to research the right outfits, order them, and deal with returns and exchanges – even if I do love dressing well and feeling great in what I’m wearing. That’s why I was thrilled when M.M.LaFleur reached out to me to try their BENTOⓇ styling service.
The process started with a quick style quiz online. I answered a few questions, gave them my cell phone number, and waited to be contacted. Based on my answers, M.M.LaFleur matched me with a stylist who connected with me within a day to say hello. She then texted me a lookbook of outfits by the following day. My stylist was responsive and eager to hear my feedback on what she chose. I made some adjustments, and she happily suggested some new styles for me. She sent a new lookbook, and I ordered the pieces that spoke to me.
Once the clothes arrived, I eagerly tried them on to see how they fit and felt. I then texted my stylist with a few exchange requests for items that needed a different size or style. She promptly sent me a shipping label for the returns, making the process incredibly smooth. She also gave me feedback on a few new pieces that I wanted to try.
For me, one of the hardest parts of ordering clothes online is the return and exchange process. But this process was so easy for me. I appreciated the convenience of being able to text with a stylist who created a quick order for me to approve and purchase. And it was a relief that I could ship my returns via Happy Returns at a location that was on a convenient route during my morning commute.
My Selections
I recently had my colors analyzed to understand what colors look best on me based on my skin, eyes, and hair. During this process, I found out that I haven’t been wearing the best shades for my coloring. So, I let my stylist know that I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try some new-to-me colors that were supposed to make me glow. She was up for the challenge and delivered some great suggestions:
- Choe Top in Apricot and the Frame Le Pixie Jane Wide Leg: This top added a fresh pop of color to my wardrobe. The jeans are so chic and comfortable. The wide leg is flattering, and I appreciated the high-rise fit.
- Owen T-Shirt in Signature Stripe and the Frame Le Pixie Jane Wide Leg: This casual yet chic T-shirt went perfectly with the same pair of jeans. I love that it’s chic for running errands, work-from-home days when I need to be camera ready, or taking the kids to the park for a play date.
- Malley Top in Deep Purple and Elena Culotte in Light Tan: Ideal for my in-person executive presentations, this combo was a hit for my “spring season” color analysis. I’ve already worn it to two presentations, and I see no signs of stopping.
- Kiki Sweater in Purple and Milo Jean in Tan : I doubled down on this color combo, as the tan and purple pairing quickly became a favorite. I love the stretchy pant and the roomy cable knit sweater.
- Tyner Blazer in Date Brown and the Frame Le Pixie Jane Wide Leg: Paired with my favorite M.M. turtleneck, the Axam turtleneck in ivory, this blazer was a stylish addition to my collection. The Tyner can be dressed up or down, so it’s a perfect look for tech moms who want to stay chic in the office but not too dressy.
Whether I’m at work, presenting to executives, or chasing my children at after school activities, these outfits are perfect for me. I’m so excited to have them in rotation for my fall and winter closet.
The Convenience Factor
Admittedly, this was a busy time for me. My daughter started preschool, and I had a huge project at work that consumed my days. Given everything that was going on, the easy texting, ordering, and return process was such a delightful experience. I’m a product marketer by day, so I am sensitive to great customer experiences. And this experience exceeded my expectations. If I could nerd out on good marketing for a minute, I couldn’t help but think about how this process truly met the needs of one of their core customer personas: busy working moms.

I just ordered from M.M. LaFleur for the first time – and I’m obsessed. I needed a new business suit (I’m C suite and need to be business formal a couple times a year). My challenges: a new mom, a changing body which became plus size, and I’m petite. All my favorite petite brands didn’t go up high enough in size to work for me.
I had a stylist meeting and she convinced me to try the wide leg Elena Culotte in red (the length is regular length on me) and I am OBSESSED. The Nora blouse is absolute perfection. I wound up with the Neale Jacket and the Cynthia dress for my presentation – and I felt like a million bucks. I want the jacket in all the colors and the dress – when I went in to get it slightly tailored, my very quiet tailor “WOW That color is great on you – you look great, we just need to raise the straps.”
My virtual stylist appointment was fantastic, and the stylist had great recommendations given my size constraints (short and plus size). Returns and exchanges were a dream. I’m still emailing the stylist for some more ideas.
I cannot wait to buy more pieces.
